ImmunArray Backgrounder

ImmunArray is a molecular diagnostics company dedicated to the development of novel blood based tests to support the diagnosis and management of complex acute and chronic immune-mediated and neurodegenerative diseases.

The company’s tests measure the repertoire of circulating antibodies to an array of antigens which are printed on ImmunArray’s proprietary iCHIP®. This circulating antibody ‘fingerprint’ is compared to the Company’s proprietary database of affected and healthy fingerprints, and proprietary algorithms are used to enable diagnosis of the likelihood of disease or drug response.  Repeated testing can be used to observe changes in a patient’s autoantibody signatures over time.

“Never One Marker, Never One Time Point TM

The company designs and analyzes sets of biomarkers known to be linked to a particular condition and develops tests on platforms most appropriate to facilitate test adoption.

The concept for the technology platform for the iCHIP® test was in-licensed from the Weizmann Institute.  The company’s first product, SLE-key®, a test to rule-out a diagnosis of Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE), will be available in early 2015.

The Company is also developing a series of biomarkers based on Intellectual Property (IP) licensed from Johns Hopkins University to help physicians identify and monitor the effectiveness of treatments for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients. The company anticipates a family of panel tests for use at different points in time following an acute event.

ImmunArray also holds proprietary IP in the fields of Immuno-Oncology, Multiple Sclerosis (licensed from Brigham and Women’s and Harvard Medical School) and transplant rejection.
